Wildfire Near Getty Center Disrupts 405 Freeway Traffic, Evacuation Warnings Issued
A brush fire, named the “Getty Fire,” started near the Getty Center in Brentwood, Los Angeles, on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at approximately 4:15 p.m. PDT. The fire, which began on a hillside near Getty Center Drive and the 405 Freeway, has burned about five acres. Evacuation warnings were issued for several areas, including the Getty Center and Mount Saint Mary’s University, as smoke blanketed the Sepulveda Pass, causing traffic delays.
