International Legal Forum Launches Dictionary to Reclaim Israel-Hamas War Terms
An Israel-based network of 4,000 lawyers, the International Legal Forum (ILF), launched an online dictionary on October 7, 2026. The dictionary aims to “reclaim” terms such as “genocide,” “war crimes,” and “colonialism,” which the ILF states have been misused and “repurposed as political weapons” since the Israel-Hamas war began on October 7, 2023. Michal Cotler-Wunsh, CEO of the ILF and Israel’s Special Envoy for Combating Antisemitism, announced the initiative.
